For the period 2010 to 2013 the Home Office developed a diversity strategy which focuses on effective leadership, a representative workforce, the aim for creating an inclusive working environment to meet the statutory obligations and a good service delivery.


The Metropolitan Police has developed a comprehensive diversity and equality strategy for 2009-2013 which highlights the following five areas:

  • Community engagement
  • Workforce and culture
  • Performance and governance
