The European Commission against Racism and Intolerance (ECRI) was established in 1993 in order to tackle racism and xenophobia. Ever since, ECRI has been publishing country reports in regular intervals on the situation concerning racism in the Council of Europe’s member states, with a focus on legislative and executive measures for fighting racism and intolerance. In 2014, ECRI published its fifth country report on Germany.

BUG submitted a contribution to ECRI’s report with a thematic focus on ‘institutional racism’ and ‘discrimination by church-based employers’ in Germany.
