BUG offers victims of discrimination legal aid and support through public relations work. Furthermore, BUG undertakes advocacy work, in order to end discrimination through law and policy. We aim to clarify the importance of strengthening the Equal Treatment Act to decision makers, in order to achieve an equitable and discrimination-free society. For this reason, BUG accompanies and comments upon the development of new legal provisions in the EU and at the national level.
BUG has set working priorities, such as the fight against discrimination in access to housing, tackling racial profiling conducted by the German Federal Police and ensuring discrimination protection for Sinti and Roma people. These issues will be also our focus areas in the coming years.
