Gender-inclusive language
The German language highly relies on the gender binary as a construct. In order to be inclusive towards people with non-binary gender identities we intend to consistently insert an asterisk when using German terms that describe people on this website (e.g. Lehrer*innen would describe teachers of all genders, whereas Lehrer or Lehrerinnen would only apply to male or female teachers).
However, since BUG has limited (human) resources, it may occur that other anti-discriminatory forms of gendered language can be found on this webiste. We will continuously try to standardize our website to using an asterisk for the sake of linguistic inclusion.
