The plaintiff had applied to a Catholic institution as a social pedagogue. She grew up as an Orthodox Christian but is not a member of the Catholic Church. This was discussed in the context of the job interview. Despite her vocational aptitude the plaintiff was not hired and felt that this constituted discrimination. She filed a lawsuit at the Labour Court of Dusseldorf. Yet, the case was refused.

Since the beginning of 2015 BUG has been supporting the plaintiff's case in the second instance. At the trial in March 2015 a settlement between the plaintiff and the defendant was reached.
