On 6 November 2010, a young man, David G., wanted to visit a disco in Reutlingen with a friend. They were both denied entry. David G. decided to file a lawsuit. BUG supported his case, acting as legal aid in court. The Regional Court (Landgericht) of Tübingen ruled on 29 July 2011 that an incident of discrimination on the basis of skin colour had indeed occurred. The verdict states that David G. was discriminated against, and that he must be allowed to enter the club in future, assuming that he respects the house rules. No compensation was awarded, however.
In the second-instance verdict in December 2011, the Higher Regional Court (Oberlandesgericht) of Stuttgart confirmed the instance discrimination and conceded David G.’s right to compensation.
