On occasion of the federal election in 2017, BUG has prepared a list of demands for the parties' election programs and sent them to the SPD, the CDU/CSU, the Left, the FDP and Alliance 90/The Greens. BUG - based on its many years of experience in anti-discrimination work - advocates for the strengthening of the protection from discrimination enshrined in the General Equal Treatment Act and also calls for the prevention and prohibition of racial profiling.

Furthermore, BUG has submitted questions to the CDU/CSU , FDP, SPD, The Left and Alliance 90/The Greens which shall serve as benchmarks for the upcoming federal election. The aforementioned parties were specifically asked about their opinions and proposals regarding the amendment and extension of legal protection against discrimination.
