Complaints office

The ‚Landesstelle für Gleichbehandlung – gegen Diskriminierung‘ published an expertise about the ombud as an instrument of intervention in the anti-discrimination work. You can read the expertise here.

In order to achieve enforcement of discrimination not only through a judicial process, complaints mechanisms offer the opportunity to those affected by discrimination to submit their complaints.

Internal complaints office

§ 13 of the AGG requires the establishment of an internal complaints office in enterprises as well as the administration. You will find more information here

Independent complaints body for the police

Up until now only a few complaints offices or ‘Ombuds offices’ inside the German police structure exist, where potential inappropriate behavior or maltreatment can be reported by persons affected.
